Injury Free Day 2008
Injury Free Day 2008

Local charity KIDS Foundation has core values that centre around injury prevention and injury recovery. Whilst, for the most part, this focuses on childhood injury, there is the need for “big kids” to be aware of injury prevention in the workplace.

KIDS Foundation joined forces with John Holland to promote this to the John Holland team at Sydney's Reliance Rail Maintenance Facility on Injury Free (IF) Day. 250 John Holland construction workers were invited to attend a lunch held in the heart of the construction site and were provided with an insight into the risks of workplace injuries by KIDS Foundation Ambassador, Heath Brew, who survived the Longford Gas Explosion in 1998 with horrendous injuries. Whilst the message was a serious one, each of the guests enjoyed a great day and an opportunity to reflect on their work practices.
